Charitable fundraising

my♡Český ráj is very much a personal project and has no commercial or revenue generating purpose. The site is completely free for everyone to use.

Over the last few years I have been involved in a number of charitable fundraising projects, in honour of my wife, Jitka, who died of a rare form of cancer at the age of 34. It was Jitka who first introduced me to the extraordinary sandstone landscape of Český ráj, nearly thirty years ago, and it seems appropriate that any funds raised as a result of the publication of this guide should be donated to charities she would have supported, had she been alive today.

So, in conjunction with the publication of this guide, I have established a charitable fundraising page on JustGiving. I have used this platform for other charitable projects since 2014, and it has proved reliable and safe for donors.

Each year, I will choose two charitable projects to support with any funds raised. One will be a cancer related project, and the other an environmental project linked to the Czech countryside. For any funds raised in 2020, I will decide on the two supported projects in December 2020. I will provide updates on this page, and the fundraising site itself. Donors are more than welcome to make suggestions as to relevant projects that could be supported, or to indicate if you want your donation to be exclusively assigned to the cancer or environmental project.
